Hey, I’m looking for some good thrash/death metal bands.
I like:
Exodus
Slayer
Pantera
Cannibal Corpse
Deicide
Nile, ect.
And also, just wondering what the noisiest/heaviest band that exists is. Already have Burzum, Darkthrone, Cannibal Corpse, and Deicide, so try to name some heavier then those if thats possible lol.

The Leprosy, Death is good, don’t care for Job For A Cowboy, and haven’t listened to the others yet.
Don’t care for Pig Destroyer.

McLaren, great answer. With the heaviest/nosiest part I was just wondering. Been looking for Kreator/Overkill, have Testament. Have Death and Morbid Angel, but not Obituary or Possessed (yet i should say =P). I like melodic death metal a lot also (Wintersun, COB, Dark Tranquility, In Flames, At The Gates, Soilwork, Sentenced, Suidakra Kalmah, Norther, ect.) Also like Mayhem, Gorgoroth, Enslaved, but don’t have their CDs yet.

I just started listening to this genre of Death Metal, and I like it a lot more then traditional Death Metal. These are the current Melodic Death Metal Bands Im listening too.Does anyone know of any other really good bands from this genre, let me know.

I’m a metalhead and I don’t have enough band tees, but I don’t have enough money to buy a bunch of ones from Hot Topic, that doesn’t really have enough death metal bands, at least the one near me. Would Goodwill have some? Have you ever found some at a flea market?

Not only that, but guitars also, whats a good brand for death metal? My band is looking for a tone that would sound smiler to a lot of death metal bands, also black metal bands. And an amp with a good chugy sound. Whats the cheapest once they sell?

Leprosy always brings up great past thrash and death metal bands but I can’t say he has mentioned this band.

We’re having a battle-of-the-bands event at our school, and each of the bands there are "representing" different genres of music, with our band representing melodic death metal.

What are some good, not-too-hard songs we can play? The only song we’ve decided on so far is Moonshield by In Flames
I mean melodic death metal bands/songs like:

i also like Arch Enemy which is newer but keeps the classic feel to it.
oh yea Morbid Angel is awesome.
Suffocation is great too.
Suicide Silence is amazing but i would put them as Deathcore. because of the breakdowns. but i dont care. still very good.

I just recently found out about Nocturnus: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gCjpKsBf44 They were unique death metal in the late 80’s and had songs about science fiction. They are very underrated. What are some (in your opinion) very underrated death metal bands that sound unique as well?
