Any Good Newer Metal Bands?

Posted on May 25th, 2010 by The Militia in Speed Metal

I’ve been listening to a lot of metal lately, mostly stuff like Slayer, Pantera, Death, ect. I was wondering if anyone knew any good metal bands that are still around making new material. Pretty much anything is fine, except for metalcore and "deathcore" or whatever that shit is called. I’d prefer no nu metal but if its unique I can bare with it. Mostly looking for thrash/speed/black/death/doom metal
Edit: I know Tool, fucking love them, one of my favorite bands. But thanks for suggesting.

Honestly, no. If you want really good metal youre gonna have get into your time machine and set it for 86-94/95. You want good metal, check out the new Alice in Chains release. These guys know the meaning of terms like melody, harmonies, and dynamics. I can’t think of anyone else worth mentioning. No one sings anymore!

Abigor is releasing a new album soon (this month, hopefully). Everyone else either died out or are trying to reinvent their band’s image to better suit the 2000s. King Diamond is probably the only one who releases good material consistently anymore.
