What wall colors should I use for a room with black and gun metal colored flooring, fixtures and furnishings?

We are in process of building this room in the basement and it has a large window. Room is for 17 yo male. His bathroom across the hall is black/grey/tan.

    I would pick a lighter color, but with black and grey floors the choice is yours. You may want to stick with the same color scheme as the bathroom but you sure don’t have to. What’s his favorite color?

    I personally think a navy blue color or even a red would look nice and complimentary!
